There are a LOT of how to guides on the market that are supposed to show you how to make your own solar panels. At last count there were at least 16 different guides available that purport to guide you step by step through building solar panels and solar cells, as they proclaim, will save you money. And while most of them do, at a bare minimum, show you how to do this, there’s not much innovation among them. Add to that the fact that some of them are poorly written and illustrated, and you can quickly see that getting the most effective one can often be a hit or miss proposition. The phrase caveat emptor is most appropriate in this field. Let the buyer beware.

I’ve read most of these guides. Some I bought, read, and promptly got my money back. A few of them are a complete waste of money. Rehashed information that you can typically find for free.
